Performance, Beauty and Diversity

Where there is a need for alternate design options and durability is paramount, High Pressure Decorative (HPDL) Laminate is an excellent choice to satisfy these needs.

Typically specified for their aesthetically uniform appearance, where hundreds of solid color and various pattern options are offered, they also perform well in populated and aggressive conditions. HPDL door faces help resist shock, denting and scarring.

Because of their durability and ease of cleaning, they are a popular choice for such applications as medical buildings, schools and universities, municipalities, military and hospitality.

Haley HPDL faces are available in a wide selection of colors and designs by WilsonArt, Formica, Nevamar and Pionite.

Understanding the Anatomy of Wood

Heartwood

Inactive cells formed from changes in inner sapwood rings after sap conduction ceases. It may have deposits giving it a darker color but not always.

Sapwood

Contains living cells vital for tree life, located next to the inner bark. It conducts sap and stores food, often lighter in color and up to six inches thick.

Medullary Rays

Radial extensions from the log's pith, primarily storing and transporting food horizontally. Varies in height, producing the flake effect in certain species like oaks.

Growth Rings

Formed by differences in density and color between early and late wood during the growing season. Early wood has larger cavities and thin walls, while late wood is denser with smaller cavities and thicker walls. These rings distinguish species and are more prominent in temperate climates.
